TRAVEL/WEATHER:

Meteoalarm weather alertsPortugal and western Spain. Red warning for high temperatures in Ourense, north west Spain. Amber alerts for surrounding regions. Now also amber alert for storms south central Austria.

Weather in brief – Hot across Europe today and mainly dry apart from heavy showers and thunderstorms in the Alps.

Crossing the Channel: Eurotunnel: UK + French terminals: ‘Due to unforeseen capacity restrictions there is a waiting time of approximately 30 minutes on the terminal.’

Eurotunnel has been bugged by delays all day. No other operators currently reporting any delays.

From @Port_of_Dover today: ‘Here in Dover sea conditions in the Channel are calm with a gentle NE gentle breeze, force 2, and the visibility is moderate to good.’

Latest @CF_travel_news forecast: ‘The current forecast indicates slight sea conditions over the weekend.’

Bulgaria – continuing anti-govt demonstrations, day twenty four today. The British Embassy says, ‘There is a small risk of violence.
